SKETCH YOUR JOURNEY

Jolly in the Jungle

7 Days 6 Nights

A forest that stretches from the northernmost part of Perak to the neighbouring Thailand borders, Royal Belum Rainforest is a sight to behold. Estimated to be around 130 million years old, this makes it one of the world’s oldest rainforests. Discover the sights and sounds that this pristine jungle has to offer.

DAY

Kampung Chuweh

On the first day of your trip, visit Kampung Chuweh to get a taste of the tribal life. Kampung Chuweh is a remote village situated deep within the thick forest. It is home to the orang Asli (aborigines) of Jahai who lived communally in the jungle. These friendly natives would be more than happy to show you around their small village or even teach you a thing or two on how to hunt using blowpipes.

DAY

Lake Temenggor

Lake Temenggor is the second largest lake in Peninsular Malaysia and is situated within the vast forest of Royal Belum State Park. You can go on a cruise on this man-made lake by hopping on board a houseboat. This is a fun activity to do with your friends as the houseboat can accommodate up to 20 people comfortably. The houseboat is equipped with facilities such as a kitchenette, bathrooms, and cabins for everyone. During the cruise, marvel at the majestic sights and sounds of the verdant forest, all while floating idyllically across the lake. If you’re lucky, you may even spot an elephant during the sunset! There are plenty of options of houseboats to choose from, depending on your needs and the size of your company.

DAY

Explore Elephants' Feeding Grounds

Kick start the third day of your trip by embarking on a journey to one of the many salt licks areas in the state park. For your information, salt licks are considered the feeding ground for elephants. You might even get the chance to bump into one! It is, however, rather difficult as these gentle creatures can be quite elusive and if you do encounter them, it is highly advisable to not make any noise as they are easily frightened.

DAY

Forest Adventure

Go on an exciting adventure by exploring the deep forest of the state park during night time. Lead by experienced forest rangers, you will get the chance to explore the biodiversity in this habitat, while getting that adrenaline rush. Some animals that you may spot include Malayan tapirs, Malayan Gaurs, deer, rhinos and so much more. Other than that, there is an array of species of frogs, toads, and snakes that dwell in the thick forest.

DAY

Sungai Rouk

Here is a sight to behold. The impressive beauty of the cascading waterfall at Sungai Ruok is something that you need to see to believe. Dip your toes into the cool, calming stream of water or even just jump ahead (with a lifejacket, of course) and go for a swim. A word of caution, the area is actually a fish sanctuary so fishing is strictly prohibited. You can, however, feed them. Try throwing a piece of bread and wait for a shoal of fishes to come and greet you.

DAY

Tasik Banding

For a splashing good time, visit Tasik Banding where you can go for a relaxing swim while enjoying the calming ambience of the forest. There are also bamboo rafts available, so you can give it a go and see if you got what it takes to be a rafter.

DAY

Spa@Belum Rainforest Resort

End your trip to Royal Belum State Park by giving yourself a treat. Unwind and be pampered at the Belum Rainforest Resort with spa treatments that cater to your whims and desire. There are a number of packages for you to choose from, such as the traditional Thai massage, aromatherapy massage, Swedish massage as well as foot reflexology. This is the perfect way to rejuvenate after a long week of adventure in Royal Belum State Park.
