Chemerong-Berembun-Langsir track (CBL) is located in Chemerong Forest Reserve, Hulu Dungun, Terengganu. Prepare yourself as you take on the 27-kilometre-trail from Chemerong Tropical Forest to Chemerong Waterfall, which is also the first checkpoint of the trail.
This beautiful serene waterfall exhibits the beautiful sights of water gushing down and pounding the rocks at the height of 1214 metres. Huge, uneven boulders are overlapping on one another, making the drizzles flow in between the rocky cracks - creating a splendid view before your eyes. Chemerong Waterfall's magnificent height makes the water looks like it showers down directly from the sky - a majestic view that makes the two-hour trekking a worthwhile experience.
Usually, the two-hour hiking to unravel the hidden waterfall is not enough to satisfy advanced hikers' thirst for adventure. Most of the hikers will opt for an adventurous hiking expedition that might take up to three days and two nights. Activities include pitching tents at provided campgrounds, ascending a 200-metre-tall mountain, relaxing at Jeram Lesung Pool, swimming in a 'fish spa', and many more.
CBL hiking trip will also be an Instagrammable trip of your liking, especially if you have the chance to witness one of the biggest Chengal trees and the strange hollow trees inhabiting the area. Be mindful that phone coverage might be limited during your hiking trip.
Before you say “let’s do this”, be wary that this trail is not for beginners; it is advisable for you to have at least 2000 metres of hiking experience. Even so, make sure to improve your level of fitness before you embark on CBL hiking adventure.
The entrance fee to Chemerong waterfall is only RM 2 per person. However, if you are planning to camp, you are advised to book the camping permit at least three weeks prior to your chosen date. The management requires you to hike with a guide, regardless of your skill level. Camping at the provided campground will cost RM 5 per person. You can also hire a porter if you want some help carrying your hiking accessories.
Chemerong Forest Reserve is open from 8 am to 5 pm. Any applications including camping permits and parking tickets need to be done during office hours. The office opens daily, including public holidays and weekends. Please note that during the monsoon season (late-October to mid-March), any hiking trip will not be approved due to heavy rain. The best time to hike will be in July, June, and May.
